The detail that matters on a piece this small is the depth of the basin walls. Little fountains have a reputation for wetting the surface they sit on, because a shallow lip plus a fall from ten inches equals splash going over the edge. The walls here are deliberately deep, which keeps the water where it belongs and is the difference between a desk piece you keep and one you quietly put away.
