Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. No plumbing and nothing to bury. One person can carry it at 18.7 pounds.
Level it carefully. On a full rim overflow an out of plumb base sends all the water off one side instead of evenly around the edge, and on a still surface that is immediately obvious.
Which way to face the cut

Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the reservoir to cover the pump at all times. A wide flat top exposes a lot of surface to the air, so evaporation runs faster than the size suggests. Check every few days in warm weather.

Questions Before You Choose
Does the water come out of the cut?
No. Water rises at the centre of the flat top and spreads across it before going over the whole rim. The cut away section shows you the ribbed core underneath but is not where the water leaves. It is a still top surface rather than a broken vessel leaking.
Where does it belong?
Modern and minimal gardens, a lawn where you want a low object rather than a tall one, a terrace, a gravel bed, a courtyard. It also works indoors on a floor. Because it stays below eye level it suits places where you do not want to block a view.
How is it different from the cracked jar fountain?
