Most lit fountains point a light at the piece. This one puts the LEDs underneath the falling water, at the point where each ledge lets go. What lights up is the water, in six separate glowing threads down the face of the tower, and the rock stays dark around them. That is a very different night look from a floodlit ornament, and it is the reason to buy an outdoor fountain with lights rather than a plain one.
The tower is built from flat rock slabs stacked off center, so each ledge overhangs the one below and the water has to step sideways on the way down. Most of the slabs are cool gray. A handful are ochre and rust, worked in at irregular heights, which is what keeps the stack from reading as one molded block.
It is resin, which at forty and a half inches means one person can carry it, set it and turn it without help. A stone piece this tall is a two person job every time you want to move it six inches.
