Plug and play on a level outdoor surface. No plumbing and nothing to bury. Set the final position before filling, because a five foot piece full of water is not something you shift afterwards.

Level matters more here than on a symmetrical fountain. The water path already runs off centre by design, and a tilted base pushes it further until a whole section of the cascade misses its landing and runs down the outside instead.

Water level and daily care

Keep enough water in the reservoir to cover the pump at all times. Lifting water to 59 inches works the pump harder than a small fountain does, and running dry is what kills pumps. Water falling this distance also loses more to evaporation and wind drift than a low piece, so check the level more often in heat.

Clear leaves out of the basins. On an irregular structure a leaf on one ledge redirects a whole section of the path, and you will hear the change before you find the cause.

Looking after the finish

The earth toned surface and the moss detail are what make this read as natural, so wipe it with a soft cloth and keep harsh liquid cleaners off it. In hard water areas a pale film builds along the wet edges and is easier to remove before it sets into the texture than after. Years of full sun will lift some depth out of any applied color, so a spot with afternoon shade keeps it looking new longer.

Winter storage

Before hard freezes, drain the reservoir and every basin completely, disconnect and store the pump indoors, and let the piece dry out. Water left where it can freeze inside the structure is what causes damage over winter. Covering it afterwards stops rain and snow refilling the basins.
