Seventy nine inches is six feet seven. At that height a large outdoor water fountain stops being an object in the garden and becomes the thing the garden is arranged around, which is the reason to buy one and also the reason to think hard about where it goes.
The face is cast as a single cliff in granite tones, with basins set at different levels across it rather than in a neat stack. Water finds its way down through them the way it would down a rock face, taking the wide route on one level and the tight one on the next. At thirty one inches long and twenty three deep it has real presence from the side as well as the front, which most tall fountains do not.
