Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. Set it level, because an orb sitting in a tilted seat will not turn evenly and may stall on one side.
Put a coaster or a mat under it. Any tabletop fountain throws fine spray, and on an untreated desk that shows over months.
If the orb stops turning
Three usual causes. The water level has dropped so the pump is not delivering enough flow. The flow is turned down too far. Or debris has collected in the seat under the ball. Top up the water, raise the flow, and lift the orb out to rinse the seat. It should turn freely again.
Water level and daily care

Drain it before the first hard freeze and store the pump dry indoors. Water left to freeze and thaw is what does the damage, not the cold itself.
