Built Around the Space It Leaves Empty
Two sweeping stone arcs curve upward and leave an open void between them. Four copper glazed bowls hang across that gap at different heights, and water travels through the empty space rather than down a solid face. What you are looking at is as much the opening as the object, which is not how any other fountain here is put together.
Everything else in this collection builds mass. Stacked pots, tiered bowls, rectilinear columns, rock faces. They are all about material filling space. Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. No plumbing and nothing to bury. At 29.7 pounds one person can place it.
Think about what is behind it before you settle the position. On a piece built around an opening, the background shows through the middle and becomes part of the object. Planting, a fence panel, or open sky all read differently through the void.
Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. Water crossing open gaps between bowls is more exposed to wind drift than water running down a solid face, so on a breezy site you will lose more and should check more often.
Clear debris from the bowl rims. Anything on a lip sends the fall past the bowl below rather than into it, which on this design means water leaving the fountain entirely.
Looking after the finish
The carved stone arcs and the copper bowl glaze are what carry the look, so wipe with a soft cloth and keep harsh liquid cleaners off. In hard water areas a pale film builds on the wet bowl rims, and it is easier to remove before it sets than after.
Winter storage
Before freezing weather, drain every bowl and the base completely, disconnect and store the pump, and dry the piece out. Water standing in a suspended bowl through a freeze and thaw is what causes damage. Questions Before You Choose
Where does it belong?
Somewhere you walk past rather than only look at from one fixed spot, since the silhouette changes with your position. A path edge, a courtyard, a patio corner, or an entry. It also suits a small garden, where a solid piece would block depth and this one keeps the view through it. Modern and zen settings take it best, and it works indoors in a sunroom or a wide entry.
Is it stable at 29.7 pounds?
On a level solid surface, yes. The 14 inch square base is wide relative to the height. But it is light for a 40 inch piece, so an exposed windy site or soft uneven ground are both worth avoiding, and it should not be somewhere a running dog would clip it.
Is it real carved stone?
No. It is resin with a carved stone finish. Real stone cut into curved arcs with an open void would be enormously expensive and far too heavy to move, which is precisely why this shape is available at this price. From a few feet away the surface reads as carved stone.
Is it safe around children and pets?
The open frame and suspended bowls are the parts to protect, so keep it out of the main running route and do not let children pull on the bowls. Set it on a hard level surface, run the cord where it will not catch a foot. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.
Every garden has food in it somewhere. Most have no water at all.

Water is used year round
Birds drink and bathe in every season, including the weeks when puddles and shallow ponds are frozen over.
Two inches, no more
Songbirds bathe standing up. A basin deeper than roughly two inches at the centre gets looked at and left alone.
Ten feet from cover
A wet bird is a slow bird. Put the bath near a shrub or a low branch and it gets used; strand it in open lawn and it does not.
Tall enough to be safe. Shallow enough to be used.
Height is not decoration. A pedestal lifts the basin above a cat's easy reach, and puts it at eye level from a kitchen window instead of lost in the planting. The basin slopes as well. It stays shallow at the rim and drops a little toward the centre, so a small bird can stand at the edge and a larger one can stand in the middle.

Still water, or moving water.
Still
Out of the box it is a basin of standing water, which is all most birds ask for. Fill it, change it every few days, done. No cord, no pump, nothing to fail.
Moving
Add a solar fountain kit and the surface breaks. Moving water carries further than a still basin and keeps mosquitoes from settling. It sits in the basin, so there is no drilling and no wiring.
Three habits, and it outlives the garden bed.
A bird bath does not need much. Almost every one that fails does so for one of two reasons. Either water was left in it through a freeze, or a detergent stripped the surface. Avoid both and the rest is rinsing.
Rinse and refill every few days in warm weather. A tip and a hose is enough.
Scrub with a stiff brush and diluted white vinegar when algae shows. No detergent and no bleach, since both leave residue birds will drink.
Empty it before the first hard frost, or keep it moving with a de-icer. Water left to freeze is the one thing the warranty can't undo.
