Setup and placement
Fill it, plug it in, done. No plumbing and nothing to bury. Set it level, because a tilted panel sends the flow down one edge instead of spreading across the ribbing.
Face it toward where people sit or pass. The cut opening and the panel are the whole point, and from behind or the side you only see a barrel.
Water level and daily care
Keep enough water in the base to cover the pump so it never runs dry. Water spread thin across a ribbed surface evaporates faster than a contained stream, so check every few days in warm weather.
Keep the grooves clear. Debris caught in the ribbing diverts the flow and breaks the even sheet the panel exists to produce.
Cleaning the ribbed panel
In hard water areas mineral film builds inside the fine horizontal grooves, which is the hardest place to remove it once set. Wipe the panel regularly with a soft cloth rather than waiting for it to show, and keep abrasives and harsh liquid cleaners away from both the panel and the timber finish.
Winter storage
