Setup, Care, and Warranty
Setup and placement
Fill the 1.5 gallon basin, plug it in, done. No plumbing and no real assembly. Set it on a level solid surface with a wall, fence, or hedge behind it, and check that it sits flat before switching on, because a sheet flow panel out of level runs heavier on one side.
Because it is rated for indoor use as well, a covered entryway or sunroom works as well as a flowerbed.
Water level and wind
The basin holds 1.5 gallons, which is not much for a fountain spreading water across two full faces. More surface area means faster evaporation, so check it every few days and more often in heat.
Wind is the other thing to plan for. A sheet of water is easy to blow sideways off the face, which costs water and wets whatever is beside it. On an exposed site put it where a wall or planting breaks the wind, or switch it off when it is gusting.
Cleaning and winter storage
The sandstone texture is what the whole look depends on, so wipe it with a soft cloth and keep harsh liquid cleaners off it. In hard water areas a pale film builds on the wet faces, and it is easier to remove before it sets.

Structurally they are the same fountain. Same size, same twin panel design, same pump system, same lighting. The only difference is the finish. This one is warm sandstone for traditional and cottage settings. The gray slate one is cool toned and leans modern. Choose by what is behind the spot.
Is it real stone?
No. It is molded Resin with a sandstone texture applied to it. From a few feet away it reads as stone. In your hands it does not, and that is also why it weighs 24 pounds instead of several hundred and why one person can move it.
Does it look good from every side?
No. The back is flat and plain, built to sit against something. Face on it is a full 39 inch silhouette. From behind it gives itself away. Place it against a wall, fence, or hedge facing wherever you sit.
Is it safe around children and pets?
The shallow 7.9 inch depth keeps it out of the walking path, which helps. Set it against a wall so it cannot be pulled forward, run the cord along the base of the wall rather than across open ground, and do not let children or pets climb on it. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.

Set it level

Sit the pump in the basin
It sits on the floor of the base, not clipped to anything. Bring the cord out through the opening at the back and away toward the outlet.
Fill until the pump is covered, then plug in
Fill first and plug in second, every time. A pump switched on in an empty basin can be damaged in seconds.
The one rule worth remembering
The pump has to stay under water. Everything else on this page is preference, but a pump that runs dry is a pump you replace. In warm weather a basin can drop below the line in a few days, so top it up before it gets close rather than after.
Three habits, and the pump outlasts the warranty.
A fountain asks for more attention than a bird bath, but not much more. Almost everything that goes wrong traces back to one of three things: the level dropped, the intake blocked, or water was left in it through a freeze.
Top it up whenever the level drops. The pump has to stay covered. This is the habit that matters more than the other two put together.
Rinse the pump every few months, and wipe mineral film off the surfaces the water runs over before it sets. A brush and a minute is the whole job.
Drain it before the first hard freeze and store the pump dry indoors. Water left to freeze and thaw is what does the damage, not the cold itself.
