A fallen log as the pedestal, basin sitting on top of the cut end — the design idea is a natural water pool forming in a hollow of fallen wood. Two faux birds perched on the log complete the scene. At 23.8" tall the composition is wider and lower than an upright column, which gives it a horizontal visual weight that most bird baths don't have. The tree knot detail, grain lines, and ring patterns are all cast into the fiber-reinforced concrete mold.
This is the only bird bath in this collection with a horizontal composition. Every other design builds vertically — column, stump, figurine. This one spreads outward. Placed at the edge of a planting bed, the wide low silhouette reads as something that grew there rather than something that was stood up in the garden.

Frequently Asked Questions
How detailed is the tree knot and grain in person?
The knot pattern, grain lines, and ring detail are all cast directly into the concrete mold, giving them genuine three-dimensional relief rather than a painted-on surface effect. Up close the texture has real depth. From a distance the knot reads clearly as the focal detail of the piece.
Are the faux birds fixed in place?
Yes. The faux birds are cast as part of the pedestal — they're integrated into the concrete form, not placed on top separately. They won't shift in wind or get knocked off by visiting birds landing nearby.
How does it handle winter?
Empty the basin before the first hard frost. The sealed concrete handles freeze-thaw cycles well when dry. Bringing the bowl indoors during extended freezing periods gives the hand-painted finish extra protection over the long term.
