Most fountains are built around the water. This one is built around a circle. A thick open ring in hand applied gray stone texture stands on a square plinth, and the water is almost hidden inside it, stepping down three curved tiers through the middle of the circle before it reaches the basin. At night a warm LED sits in the base and throws light upward, so the glow comes through the falling water and up the inside face of the ring. That is an accent light for the fountain itself. Setup, Care, and Warranty
Setup and placement
Tool free. Set it level, fill the basin, plug it in. One person and a few minutes. The plug is a standard US outlet, so measure from the outlet before you commit to a spot or plan on an outdoor rated extension cord.
Decide the facing direction before you fill it. Once there is water in the basin, turning a 20 pound piece to a different angle is more awkward than doing it dry.
Water level and daily care
The basin holds between half a gallon and two gallons, so check the level every few days and more often in heat and wind. Keep enough water to cover the pump at all times, since a pump running dry is what kills pumps. Clear leaves off the interior tiers, because a leaf across a ledge sends the whole flow down one side.
Wipe it with a soft cloth and keep harsh liquid cleaners away from the hand applied texture.
Winter storage
Before freezing weather, drain the basin completely, disconnect and store the pump, and dry the interior tiers. Do not leave water where it can freeze inside the ring. At 20.06 pounds this is a one person, one trip job.

Does it look good from every side?
No, and that is the main thing to plan around. It is built to be seen face on, where the circle does its work. From the side it is a 9 inch edge. Place it against a backdrop facing your seating rather than out in the middle of an open space where people walk around it.
How is it different from the solid disc fountain?
The ring is open, so you see the garden through the middle and the circle frames whatever is behind it. The cast cement disc is closed, so it reads as one solid pale shape instead. Different objects doing different jobs. The disc is also real cement and considerably heavier, which matters if wind is a factor where you live.
Will the light brighten the area around it?
No. The LED sits in the base and shines up through the water, so it lights the fountain and nothing else. Think of it as the fountain being visible after dark rather than as garden lighting.
Is it safe around children and pets?
At 20.06 pounds it is steadier than the lightest resin pieces but still not concrete, so keep it out of the main running path and away from where a dog turning a corner would clip the base. Route the cord along a wall or bed edge so it will not catch a foot, and do not let children climb through the ring. The recirculating water is not intended for drinking.
