Indoor tabletop water fountain on a wooden console table for office or home decor

Collection: Tabletop Water Fountains

Choose a tabletop water fountain for a desk, shelf or counter by its footprint as well as its height. Compact orb and bowl models have bases around 7.8 to 8 inches square; taller slate and terracotta designs need a wider surface.

Compare each model’s dimensions, lighting and pump features below. These fountains recirculate water with a pump included, so no plumbing connection is needed. Follow the model’s filling instructions and keep the pump submerged.

A Foot of Running Water, Right Next to You

Choose the size that fits your desk

For a mini water fountain for a desk, start with the base dimensions. The Spinning Orb model is 8.3 inches high with a 7.9-inch square footprint; the Mini Slate Bowl is 10.6 inches high with a 7.8-inch square footprint. Both are small indoor options, with different looks: a moving orb or four stacked bowls. Allow extra room to fill and clean the basin, and keep water away from electronics and paperwork.

A shelf fountain needs more space

The Mossy Rock, 6 Tier Slate and Terracotta models are each 15.7 inches high with a 10.2-inch square footprint. The Boho Carved Bowl is 15.7 inches high with a 10.4-inch square footprint. These suit a wider side table, counter or reception surface. The Classical 3 Tier is the larger exception: 16.1 inches high, 19.7 inches long and 14.4 inches wide, at 17.6 pounds. Measure the supporting surface before choosing it.

Compare the water movement and light

The 8.3-inch Spinning Orb has a water-driven orb and color-changing light; the Mini Slate Bowl has four cascading bowls and warm accent light. For a taller design, compare the stepped gray slate of the 6 Tier model, the dark moss detail of the Mossy Rock, or the terracotta-toned bowls of the Boho and Terracotta models. The 9.8-inch Lit Spinning Orb and Blue Vase are also shown in the collection; check each product card for current availability.

What to expect from an office fountain

Several models list an adjustable pump, which lets you change the flow. Water sound also depends on the cascade, water level and supporting surface. There is no measured sound level for this range, so do not choose by height alone or expect every model to be equally quiet. Keep the pump submerged and position the fountain away from a microphone or work equipment.

Filling and caring for a tabletop fountain

These are recirculating fountains with a pump included; they do not need a plumbing connection. Fill each model according to its instructions rather than using the same amount of water for every fountain. Check the level before use and top up when needed. Unplug before cleaning or handling the pump. Use the water type recommended for the model, and clean deposits from the basin and pump inlet as part of routine care.

Choose for the room you will use

Most listed models are intended for indoor use. The Classical 3 Tier product page lists indoor and outdoor use; check the individual model before placing another fountain outside. Set the fountain on a level, water-resistant tray or protected surface, within reach of the correct outlet. For an office, a nightstand or a reception desk, choose the footprint first, then the cascade and lighting you want to see up close.

Before You Buy a Tabletop Fountain

How does a tabletop fountain work?
A small pump sits in the basin, lifts water to the top and lets it run back down over the bowls or the stone. The same water circulates, so there is nothing to plumb. Fill the basin, plug it into a standard outlet and it runs.
How much water does a tabletop water fountain hold?
Capacity varies by model. Follow the fill level in the supplied instructions and keep the pump submerged. Check the water level before use and top up as it drops; the interval depends on the room and how long the fountain runs.
Can I use tap water in it?
You can, but distilled or filtered water is better. Tap water leaves white mineral marks on the stone and inside the pump, and on a piece sitting a foot from your face those marks show. Rinse the pump every few weeks either way.
Is a tabletop fountain too loud for a desk?
Sound depends on the cascade, pump setting, water level and the surface underneath it. Several models list an adjustable pump, but there is no measured sound level for this collection. For an office desk, use the lowest suitable flow setting, keep the pump submerged and leave space between the fountain and your microphone.
Will it damage my desk or furniture?
Set it on a coaster, a tray or a felt pad. The base stays dry in normal use, but condensation and the odd drip happen, and a tray also makes it easy to slide the fountain aside when you dust.
Where should I put a tabletop fountain?
Anywhere you sit or pass close by, a desk corner, a nightstand, a hall table, a kitchen counter or a reception desk. Keep it within reach of an outlet, back from the edge, and away from paper, books and anything electrical.
