What a wall fountain is

A wall fountain is a fountain with a front and a back. The back is flat so it can stand close to a wall, a fence or a clipped hedge, and the front is a face for the water to run down. Because the whole design faces one way, it takes up far less room than a fountain you walk around. The same idea is sold as a water wall or a wall water feature.

Care through the seasons

Top up the basin every few days in summer, more often in heat or wind, so the pump always stays covered. Every few weeks, wipe the face and the lips of the trays with a soft cloth. Leaves and mineral spots break up a smooth sheet of water quickly, and a clean face keeps it running evenly.

Before the first hard freeze, drain the basin, dry the pump and store the fountain in a garage or shed. The slim shape makes that easy. In spring, rinse it, set it level again and refill it.

Before You Buy a Wall Fountain
